Maltby Festival Group
Maltby festival group is a group of volunteers from all walks of life with in the Maltby community, we got together in October 2007 at a friend’s of Maltby parks meeting where a few ideas were past around and it was agreed that a separate committee needed to be set up to put the ideas into practice.
January 16th 2008 the group had an opportunity to put on a presentation for Maltby Town Council to ask for a grant of £5,000 to enable them to make the festival a reality, The outcome of the meeting was if the group dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's by adopting their own constitution and open a bank account the council would give the group the grant in April’s budget.
The group adopted their constitution on January 29th 2008 and opened there own bank account soon after.
Other sponsors were found and work was underway to make Maltby’s first weeklong festival become a reality.
